UBS SPONSORS BANDALOOP

OZ ARTS NASHVILLE WELCOMES UBS AS THE SPONSOR OF HARBORING, A SITE-RESPONSIVE, MULTI-DIMENSIONAL WORK FROM INTERNATIONALLY CELEBRATED VERTICAL DANCE COMPANY BANDALOOP, OCTOBER 10 & 11

Company Will Also Perform Look Up Nashville! At the UBS Tower at 1PM on October 6

OZ Arts Nashville is pleased to welcome UBS as a sponsor of Harboring, BANDALOOP during the company’s Nashville presentation. This is an inaugural sponsorship for the new 501c3, non-profit organization whose mission is to bring the innovative and cutting-edge arts to Nashville. UBS has been a fixture in the Nashville community since 2000 and is known internationally for their support of the arts.

In advance of the Harboring performances at OZ, BANDALOOP dancers will present Look Up Nashville!, a site-responsive performance down the side of the 28-story UBS Tower in downtown Nashville. This unique “sneak peek” of BANDALOOP will take place October 6, 1 p.m. sharp, 315 Deaderick Street. Admission will be free and the public is invited to enjoy this experience.

UBS has a long, proud history of supporting contemporary art through various sponsorships and global partnerships, as well as through its own distinguished art collection and the UBS Arts Forum. Most recently, UBS became the global Lead Partner of Art Basel, sponsoring all three shows in Basel, Miami Beach and Hong Kong. Additionally, in 2012 UBS launched the Guggenheim UBS MAP project – a global collaboration with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation that engages with artists, institutions and the public in Southeast Asia, Latin America and North Africa/Middle East.

“At UBS, we believe that contemporary art reflects and influences trends in society,” said Jerry Johnson, managing director of UBS’s Tennessee Complex. “We are proud to partner with OZ Arts, a Nashville institution that shares that passion for contemporary art with us – and with many of our clients. We are excited to host BANDALOOP here in Music City and are happy to sponsor Look Up Nashville.”

“The support of companies like UBS is very important to nonprofits like OZ,” said Tim Ozgener, co-founder and CEO of OZ. “It is impressive when businesses step up to support the arts. Such corporate support helps Nashville’s nonprofits carry out their important community missions. Here at OZ, that means our sponsors are helping us to continue to bring high-caliber contemporary art to Nashville. We are grateful to UBS.”

About OZ Arts Nashville

As the first 501(c)3 contemporary arts institution in the region, the arrival of OZ Arts has begun to transform the cultural landscape of Nashville. Through a year-round program of performing and visual arts events, OZ supports the creative explorations of leading artists from around the world and inspires curious audiences of all ages. Nashville’s Ozgener family established the non-profit OZ Arts in the building that once housed their cigar company, C.A.O. Under their leadership, OZ has been transformed into a column-free, 10,000 square-foot performance and installation venue nestled amidst artfully landscaped grounds.

In addition to presenting celebrated national and international artists, OZ Arts serves as a catalyst for local creativity. Conceived by OZ Artistic Director Lauren Snelling, TNT (Thursday Night Things) is a monthly series of unexpected collaborations with Nashville-based artists from varying creative disciplines. OZ provides a platform for these artists to create, develop and present a one-time-only event that would traditionally not be seen in a visual art gallery or theatre—utilizing the vast expanse of the Grand Salon, entrance gallery and/or surrounding grounds.
