Belmont University professor Jaclynn Jutting directs a new production of Tony award-winning playwright Simon Stephens’ (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime) acclaimed monologue Sea Wall. Jutting curates the evening’s presentations and “sets the stage” with an installation of photography by Tina Gionis who will share her Legacy collection to remind us of the ties of family and the past in our lives.
Sea Wall is a one-man play about a young father, Alex (Nat McIntyre), who shares the events that happened to his family on a beach during one summer afternoon. His father-in-law, a retired military math teacher and Alex are united by the love and care they share for Alex’s 8-year old daughter Lucy. Sea Wall is a moving drama about family—the things that bind us together and the ways in which we fail each other—in a tumultuous world outside of our control.
