Sara Beth Myers is an Assistant United States Attorney in the White Collar Crime Division. She serves as the Human Trafficking Coordinator and Civil Rights Coordinator for the District. Before serving as an AUSA, she was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Tennessee in the Law Enforcement and Special Prosecutions Division. Ms. Myers was also an Assistant District Attorney General in Nashville with a specialty in prosecuting domestic violence crimes. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Myers piloted a program with Girls Inc. that taught elementary students to recognize the signs of abusive relationships. Ms. Myers has also practiced civil litigation at Jones Day in Atlanta.

She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University where she majored in History and Russian, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She also studied at Oxford University and represented Duke University at a summit on U.S.-Russia Relations at Stanford University. She earned a Master's degree from Yale University in Russian and East European Studies, where she received a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship and wrote her Master’s thesis on the Future of U.S.-NATO Relations. She earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. She is proficient in Russian, French, and German.

Ms. Myers is extremely dedicated to improving the lives of women and children in her community and state. She is the founder and chair of Advocates for Women's And Kids' Equality (AWAKE), an issues-based organization that advocates for the advancement of women and kids through education and policy change. In its brief tenure, AWAKE has drafted, lobbied and passed eight bills through the state legislature that improve the health and safety of Tennessee women and children. The organization has also designed a curriculum on Healthy Relationships & Finances, which it teaches to at-risk children through its community partners. AWAKE also started a truancy intervention program in Nashville in partnership with the Juvenile Court, MNPS, and the Nashville Bar Association, which pairs unrepresented students with pro bono attorneys and volunteer advocates from the community.

Ms. Myers is an adjunct professor of law at Vanderbilt Law School and she serves on the Magdalene/Thistle Farms Board of Directors. She also serves on the Mayor's Council on Gender Equity and she is a member of the Women’s Political Collaborative of Tennessee, Lawyers’ Association for Women, and the Nashville Bar Association. She was a 2017 class member of the Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum and a 2018 member of the TEDx Nashville Society of Fellows. She received the 2017 Outstanding Advocate Award from the Nashville Coalition to End Domestic Violence. Ms. Myers is an active member of Eastwood Christian Church and lives in East Nashville with her husband and two energetic children.
