Lynn Goldsmith’s career achievements are vast. In brief, they include: her work in advertising as a writer; being awarded two Clio Awards; a spot on the New York Times Bestseller list with her book New Kids. As a director, she was the youngest female to ever get into the Director’s Guild. As one of the firsts in that field, she directed the first late night rock and roll television show for ABC. She co-managed one of America’s biggest bands Grand Funk Railroad. She also founded the first photo agency to focus on celebrity portraiture, which grew worldwide to represent 300 photographers. With her own photographs, she’s been awarded the Lucie Award in Portraiture, the World Press Photo Award twice, and been given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Professional Photographers of America. Her photographs are in a permanent collection at The Smithsonian, The Museum of Modern Art, and The Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, to name a few. Lynn has also been a recording artist on Island Records. Under the AKA of Will Powers, she has written songs with Sting, Steve Winwood, Nile Rodgers and Todd Rundgren. While working in all these areas, she has also been a painter. With an illustrious career spanning over five decades, she has solidified herself as a true artistic trailblazer. But more than her achievements, she is proud that her pursuits are ever evolving. Her belief on creativity is based on breaking through fear, taking risks, and persistence in the pursuit of one’s goals.
