Born in Nashville, Hank grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Washington and Lee University and received an MBA from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
During his time in business school, Hank was exposed to the history of bourbon whiskey, and developed an idea that combined his family’s legacy in the barge business with the art of bourbon making. In 2016, he founded Brown Water Spirits, and, in the Fall of 2020, he launched the O.H. Ingram River Aged Whiskey Series, the first and only whiskey aged inside floating rackhouses on the Mississippi River, producing products with greater complexity and smoothness.
In addition to Brown Water Spirits, Hank currently serves as the Business Development Director for Ingram Industries Inc. where he is responsible for driving long-term strategic investment strategy.
Hank serves on the boards of the Boy Scouts of Middle Tennessee and the Nashville Symphony. In his spare time, Hank enjoys golf, guitar, cycling, and of course, a neat pour of bourbon.
