Suzanne Phifer Pavitt hails from Ringgold, GA, a small rural town in the northwest corner of the state. She left Georgia for college and graduate school and went on to excel as one of a handful of women in the highly competitive world of technology sales. She met Shane Pavitt, a finance professional from Manhattan Beach, CA. After several date nights, they married and raised two boys, now both in college. Amongst the chaos of their two successful careers, the couple made a pact to continue their weekly Date Night. On one such night, they dreamt of a simpler life, with perhaps a small vineyard and winery with enough room to roam. This led them to find 23 acres in Calistoga where they built their home and ultimately began the Phifer Pavitt Wine journey.

The first vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon, aptly named DATE NIGHT, debuted in 2005. Since then, Phifer Pavitt Wine has grown to include a small portfolio of wines produced at their Napa Green Certified Vineyard and Winery and are available for tasting by-appointment in the historic Eco-Barn at the Estate. Suzanne leads a small but mighty team, with a focus on sustainable winemaking, responsible farming, and creating special memories for all who visit.

The flagship DATE NIGHT Cabernet Sauvignon is regarded as a still-hidden gem of the Napa Valley and the Sancerre-style DATE NIGHT Sauvignon Blanc is a perennial summer favorite. The most recent addition to the DATE NIGHT line-up is a Blanc de Noirs, Sparkling Wine, perfect for every occasion.

Over the years, the wine portfolio has grown to include a bespoke collection of Reserve wines. In addition to the DATE NIGHT wines, Phifer Pavitt offers XROADS Cabernet Sauvignon; Phifer Pavitt Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon; a hand- made, method-champenoise Reserve Sparkling Wine; a single-barrel Petit Verdot, and a Rosé of Cabernet. In addition to wine, Phifer Pavitt produces the ultra- exclusive Phifer Pavitt Reserve Bourbon. An exquisite spirit aged for 20 months in their own Cabernet barrels, it is crafted in partnership with Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky and has been repeatedly named one of the top-10 finished bourbons in the country.

When not hands-on at the winery or on the road sharing their wines, Suzanne and Shane continue to indulge in their weekly date nights. They incorporate their love of travel, passion for family, and sense of adventure into DATE NIGHT. It’s not just their wine; it’s a way of life.
