David Osborn

David has spent his entire career helping healthcare organizations improve what they do. He currently serves as Senior Vice President of HealthTrust, an organization which supports supply chain operations and performance improvement for over 1800 hospitals across the United Sates. For many years David served as a Partner and Managing Director at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and KPMG Consulting focusing on business strategy, operations, innovation and technology. David also served for over six years on the faculty of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he founded and directed the Vanderbilt Center for Better Health.

David holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Harding University, and a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Tennessee. He has served as a frequent speaker at national and international healthcare conferences and industry gatherings, and has authored numerous published articles and white topics on various topics. David has served on the Advisory Boards for the American Heart Association and the Mercy Children’s Clinic, and is the past Board Chair for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee. He is actively involved with the Nashville Wine Auction, combining his love of wine with raising money for cancer-related charities.

David has had a keen interest in music since his early years, and has organized and played in various groups and bands since he was a teenager. He performs semi-regularly with a band at a honkytonk in downtown Nashville and across the country at charity events. Over the last few David has been studying empirical and anecdotal evidence concerning the power of music to heal the mind and body, we well as help inspire and connect people.
