Former Mayor of Nashville and Adjunct Professor of Law
Vanderbilt University Law School

Karl Dean served as Mayor of Nashville from September 2007 to September 2015. Prior to serving as Mayor, he was the Director of Law for Nashville and Nashville’s elected Public Defender. 

He currently teaches at Vanderbilt Law School. Dean has also taught at Boston University and Belmont University.
